Description
Most clubs were hand-made by the players themselves. Moreover, the play and rules were random. Eventually, the game started being played in the United States in the late 1800s. Around 1856, Robert Forgan started using hickory wood to make clubs. It became the wood of choice for shafts due to its long lasting property.
