How to Apply the Symbolism of Ganesha to your Everyday Life

Ganesha is a Hindu God, depicted as a man with an elephant’s head and four arms. Ganesha is the son of Shiva the destroyer, one of the principal Hindu Gods, and Parvati. It is believed that Ganesha has the head of an elephant because his own father Shiva, unaware that Ganesha had been born, became angry when Ganesha told him to leave while his mother was bathing. To make up for his mistake, Shiva replaced the child’s head with an elephant’s.

Ganesha was blessed with intelligence and prosperity and is now known as the remover of obstacles. Ganesha can help to remove obstacles in everyday life and his image can inspire and assist with mental and physical purity.

If energy and enthusiasm are lacking at work, then try and bring the image of a standing Ganesha into the office. It is important to remember that the best place for Ganesha to be placed is in the corner of a room. This can be easy in some places, but more difficult if all that is available is an office cubical. Placing a standing Ganesha statue in the corner of a desk can work if that is all that is available.

An image of Ganesha should always be present in the room used for meditating as Ganesha is thought to inspire success and happiness through mental focus. This happiness and success are what can help break down both mental barrier and challenges faced in everyday life. Ganesha can also help to alleviate fears and concerns that are causing mental cloudiness.

It is also important to remember that there is too much of a good thing. There should only be one image of Ganesha in one room as having two or more images of him will cause the opposite effect on a space than is wanted. Having more than one throughout the home is fine, but make sure two Ganesha's never meet.

Ganesha proves that there is no obstacle too large and no reason not to achieve mental wellness and clarity in the face of adversity. Keeping images of Ganesha present throughout everyday life can help to remember his symbolism and improve overall well-being and happiness. There are many images of Ganesha with different benefits, do a bit of research or consult with an expert to find out which Ganesha statue or depiction can help with your wellness journey.
