When I think about Nepal; the first thing that comes into my mind is the Himalayas. The splendid view that can be seen from our rooftop on a clear autumn sky is just magnificent! The Land of Mount Everest; indeed has capture many tourist and religious beliefs. The mysteries of the Himalayas range; still lure thousands of people each year.

So, if you are planning to visit Nepal this year; make sure to visit these breathtaking places (which will discuss later) as soon as you reach Nepal.

Being the birthplace of Lord Buddha; (for more information here; Navadurga Handicrafts and Singing bowls house); it signifies peace and serenity. It is rich in many natural resources and gives birth to many rivers and streams. Nepal is also a land of diversity; with more than 60 ethnic groups living in Nepal; each with different languages and distinct culture. 

Best time to visit Nepal

You can visit Nepal all year through but; if you are really looking for the beautiful clear blue sky; for your tour in and around Nepal; then spring and autumn is the best time to visit Nepal. The month of October and November would be perfect because the view is spectacular due to the clear sky.

Winter is also fine but it would be very cold. If you are a person who can tolerate cold then; that would be alright but; if you live in warm places, then it would be difficult for you to bear the cold condition. Besides these; spring season is the coolest season to visit Nepal. The days are longer during spring; making it the best time for trekking!

Late spring in the month of April-May; is by far the best time to visit Nepal. The Rhododendrons are attractively blooming during this season; making every tourist fall in love with them; whereas during summer; the monsoon rain will be there and you will not feel like going out but you will enjoy the festive seasons.

There are many events and festivities all year through; so plan ahead and fix the date that matches with the various festivals; in order to enjoy the culture and unique festivals in Nepal. 

Nepal Holidays Destination

Nepal has been a holiday destination for many people. It's Himalayan Empire that stretches along the valley; has become the destination for trekkers. Let's have a look at some of the well-known holiday destinations in Nepal:

1. SAILUNG VALLEY TREKKING HOLIDAY

Sailung trekking starts from Dolkha after 6-7 hours drive from Kathmandu. It is a non-tourist trekking area; so it would be wonderful and less crowded. From here you will see the magnificent view of Mt. Everest; Mt. Makalu, Mt. Ama Dablam; Mt. Lhotse and a whole lot of the Himalayan Empire.

There are various camping sites and locations for an overnight stay during the trek.

2. THE ANNAPURNAS FAMILY HOLIDAY

Situated in North-Central Nepal; Annapurna is good for family trekking of low altitude trek. But depending on which group you are in; there's some high altitude trek too. Here you will be in awe; of all the peaks that surround you and having some fun moments with family too. 

3. EVEREST BASE CAMP

Everest base camp consists of two base camps opposite Mt. Everest. The south base camp; which is in Nepal and the North base camp in Tibet. These camps are campsites which are largely used by mountain climbers during their ascent and descent journey.

Both these camping site are best to visit during the spring and autumn season.

4. CHITWAN SAFARI AND RAFTING

Here you will experience diverse cultures of Nepal; with the river raft. You will find most of the ancient settlements and shrines here. The Buddhist shrines, monasteries, Hindu temples and local craftsmanship are prominent here.

Rafting in the Trisuli river and jeep safari in the Royal Chitwan National park is pretty cool. You will encounter the wildlife of the National Park like the rhinoceros, the exotic deer, the crocodiles; the Royal Bengal Tiger and lots of bird species. 

5. TIBET CULTURAL HOLIDAY

From Kathmandu to Lhasa through the Everest camp; it will take you to a two weeks cultural tour all the way from Kathmandu to bordering Tibet back and forth. Of course; you will be viewing the endless silvery Himalayas throughout the tour; with Rhododendrons, only if you visit in the spring and vast local cultures and businesses if you prefer hiking and cycling through the local streets.

6. NEPAL ADVENTURE TOUR

Nepal has many adventurous tours and for a daredevil like you; (just kidding, if you're a daredevil) then you'll love all the adventurous sports that the country offers. From water rafting to hiking; trekking across the Himalayas to the jungle safari; mountain biking to rock climbing and bird watching; I don't know if bird watching is considered adventure!laugh You name it all; it will blow your mind!  

Things to do in Nepal

There are like zillion things to do in Nepal with so short a time during your tour. Besides the above holiday destinations; here are the tips, to make things quick and easy; for things to do in Nepal. Be ready with your backpack and you're off to go:

1. Visit a temple

There are many temples and Buddhist monasteries to visit and learn about Nepal's culture and beliefs. It will give you an insight into the world of those people besides; it brings you peace of mind and serenity.

The famous temples to visit are; The Bagh Bhairab temple; the Swayambhunath Stupa, the Chankunarayan temple, Budhanilkantha, Manakamana temple; Muktinath and the three durbar square in Kathmandu valley.

2.  Visit Pokhara

Pokhara is famous for sightseeing. The Pokhara valley is beautiful, with friendly people awaits you. You can do all kind of activities there; like boating, pony riding, paragliding or just relax at the nearby lake.

There are plenty of local shops and local foods to dine in. Pokhara also produces some of the best handicrafts in the country. Phewa Lake, Annapurna circuit, adventurous sports and international Mountian Museum; are some of the places to visit in Pokhara.

3. Nepal Jewelry

6. Go underground at Siddha Gufa

This is the largest cave in the country and a popular trekking route too. You will find some of the world finest stalagmites and stalactites that fill the cave with natural beauties.
