Forskolin is a chemical substance that is known to have several effects on normal human body functioning and state of health. This chemical substance is the main active ingredient in a special plant extract from the Indian Coleus plant or Coleus Forskohlii (WebMD). The roots of this plant are the source of this medicinal extract. The plant is classified under the mint species and is mainly grown in India. A normal procedure of loosing weight can take quite a long time. This is however not the case when one uses forskolin together with any other dieting plan. The results are said to be much better and are achieved within a shorter duration of time than expected.

This chemical substance works by assisting the process of breaking down of lipids in the body. Lipids hold a lot of fat molecules and breaking them down means a subsequent loss of weight. Forskolin also works by increasing the production of the thyroid hormone that is responsible for speeding up metabolism activities in the human body.
