It feels bad when you realize that your teeth are stained. Well, this is not the end of everything. You can still restore the natural whiteness of your teeth. You do not have to go for cosmetic operations just to make your teeth whiter. All you need is to use simple methods. Here are tips that some say will make your teeth whiter:

  • Brushing After Meals

This comes as the simplest method of keeping your teeth whiter every day. Unfortunately, most people tend to overlook the importance of brushing after meals. Failure to brush in such occasions means that food particles will remain attached to the enamel. Prolonged attachment of such particles means that you might end up developing permanent taints on the teeth. Forming a habit of brushing after eating or drinking something will exempt you the hustle of dealing with permanent taints on the teeth.

  •  Brush With Coconut Oil

You heard me right! Coconut oil has properties that can be of great help in whitening your teeth. Arguably, brushing frequently with coconut oil will yield positive results in a period of not more than 2 months. First, put a spoonful of coconut oil in your mouth and move it across your teeth for about 20 minutes. Apply 2 more drops on the toothbrush and clean your teeth using the same. Repeat this at least twice a day. You should notice remarkable changes in one month.

  • Brush With Cider Vinegar

Did you know that cider vinegar carries antibiotic properties? Did you also know that cider vinegar is a natural cleanser? Well, this is the reason why cider vinegar is recommended for teeth whitening. It helps in cleaning the enamel and killing microorganisms that could be responsible for teeth tainting. You can opt to gaggle cider vinegar in your mouth for 5 minutes or use the same to brush your teeth. The reaction of vinegar on teeth is quite strong hence there is no need to have it in your mouth for a long duration.

  • Orange or Lemon Peels

Scientific studies argue that the type of acid contained in lemon and orange peels is effective in eliminating stains on the teeth. This implies that teeth whitening can be achieved with the help of either orange or lemon peels. You can use this easily. Cut a fresh peel of lemon or orange and put it in your mouth. Make sure that the peel releases some juice on the teeth. Allow it to rest on the teeth for at least 10 minutes before removing it. You can then brush regularly to remove that sensation. Better still, you can rinse your teeth with clean water. This should be repeated at least 3 times in a day. The results will be exhibited in a short span.

  • Strawberry

Did you know that strawberries have a high level of antioxidants? It has been proven beyond doubt that antioxidants have the capacity to cleanse. The same effect is exhibited on the teeth. Once you chew strawberries, bacteria and other microorganisms are attacked and eventually killed. It is advised that you create a strawberry juice and gaggle it in your mouth. You can opt to swallow the juice after gaggling. After all, it is healthy. Do this regularly everyday until you notice changes on your teeth. You can decide to mix strawberry juice with vinegar as a way of catalyzing the whitening effect. Better still, you can opt to take raw strawberries to allow the acidic element react on the teeth. Either way, similar results will be achieved ultimately.

Unfortunately none of the above tips (other than the first) has been clinically proven to reduce tooth stains and some of them may in fact harm your teeth. So check with your dentist before embarking on any tooth whitening regime.
