By the time you reach your 50’s, your body, desires and energy change. At this phase of life, you may get a number of successes and achievements, but along with that you may experience a few health problems that you can’t control. Chances are that you may get heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis or high blood pressure even if you have taken all the right steps to stay fit and healthy. However, there are certain things you can do to maintain health and strength.

To look young, charming and fit is an utmost desire of every human being living on this planet. But, ageing drastically decreases our desire, passion and energy level. We start losing muscle tone and gaining weight.

As a result, the body becomes a hub of uninvited health issues such as diabetes (due to decreased metabolic rate), increased blood pressure, impaired vision, weak joints and bones. To meet the requirements of the body in this stage of life, we need to consult a health counselor or should join health and fitness center.

However, before joining a gym, you should take a few simple tests to know how you score and how much changes you need to do in your lifestyle for a healthy life.

After taking this tests, your first focus should be on building back muscle tone. This can be done by taking up weight training. If a man has not taken weight training before then there is no need to worry. You can take advice from the trainer. Initially, he will assist you to practice slowly. This will help prevent the body from falling literally. Your next attempt should be focused on controlling weight gain. This will make the body fit and remove the extra load from body joints, and thus body will feel free and more energetic.

The controlled weight will help to prevent the various health hazards related to heart like blockage in artery (Heart Disorders such as Atherosclerosis, Angina, Myocardial Infection due to fatty foods, increased Low Density Lipoprotein and Cholesterol level in the body), Kidney disorders (Renal Failure, Kidney stones, Nephrotoxicity) and Gastrointestinal (GI)- related problems such as poor digestion, acidity, constipation, and many more.

The problem of diabetes can also be prevented by managing weight and taking healthy diet. With the help of a diabetes tool, you can find out your risk for diabetes. As soon as the weight related issue is solved, now it is the time to focus on managing blood pressure.
Because increased blood pressure may result in stroke or heart attack and sometimes blood haemorrhage. The survival chances in such cases are very less and returning to normal state takes a very long time. The main motto at this stage of life should be avoiding poor eating habits and adopting a better and healthy eating lifestyle.

One should eat less, but eat healthier. Cut out the obvious fat and sodium monsters. Avoid sugar and if you love to eat sweets and ice creams prefer to take sugar free items. It will maintain your day and taste too. One should start taking green tea instead of black tea.

The organic food products may be more beneficial for health. The consumption of herbal based drinks, tinctures, etc. will make you feel good and energised. Consuming probiotic drinks is one of the best ways to be fit and healthy as it increases the resistance of the body also.

One should start taking omega-3 for immunity and heart, glucosamine for joints and Ginseng for being active and energetic throughout life. One should abandoned the unnecessary use of antibiotics and medicines which are not required sometime. 

One should produce more joy in life. Think positive and avoid situations which make you feel tensed and depressed. Be jolly, avoid anger and be more living. To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.
