All of us have different skin types; you may suspect that you have oily, sensitive or dry skin, but do you all really know your skin type is? It is very important to know your skin type; it can help you next time when you are in the cosmetic aisle. On the other hand, using the wrong products can damage your skin, you can land up with acute dryness, acne, or other skin problems.

How to build a good skin care routine

Irrespective of what your skin type is, an everyday skin care routine should be everyone’s top priority, in order to maintain your overall skin health and thus improve specific areas of concern like scarring, acne, pigmentation and dark spots. Your daily skin care routine should consist of 4 basic steps. These can be done once in the morning and once before bed.

  1. Cleansing

Always try using the best skin care products available. Choose a cleanser which does not leave your skin very tight after washing. Try cleaning your face just twice or maybe once, if you have a dry skin and you do not put makeup, as you can end up losing your skin’s natural oils.

  1. Moisturizer

Note, even oily skin needs moisturizer, but try to use one that is gel-based, light-weight, does not block your pores and non-comedogenic. For dry skin, use more of cream-based moisturizers from Korean skin care products. Many popular brands will label their skin products as cream or gel on their packaging.

  1. Serums

A good serum containing vitamin C or peptides or growth factors are best suited in the morning, under sunscreen. During the night, prescription retinoid or retinol work best.

  1. Sunscreen

You should apply sunscreen with 30 SPF, about 15 minutes before going out, as it takes some time to activate. If you have darker skin tone, you need to apply more sun protection as hyperpigmentation is much harder to correct. Try using Korean skin care products, as they offer broad-spectrum UVB/UVA protection.

Always use products which best fit your skin type as well as sensitivity. Remember to read the labels properly. Few skin care products, like prescription retinoid or retinols should be applied at night.

Some tips for all types of skin

Drink plenty of water
Wrap or wash up your hair before going to bed
Patch test a new skin care product
Wear a good Korean skin care sunscreen every day and do apply it before you goout
A healthy diet is great to help you look and feel your best

Skin care is a vital component of overall self-care; that is the reason why experts at Aloisia Beauty formulate their excellent clean beauty products with super clean, non-toxic and carefully-researched. They are healthy for your whole body – inside and outside.
