Many people go through the problem of sleeplessness. There are many reasons for sleeplessness but one of those problems can be sleeping on the wrong mattress. If a person does not rest for a minimum time during the night then, this may have serious effects on their health. Sleeplessness can cause a person to feel fatigued, drowsy and lack energy. Sleeplessness also affects a person’s mood and concentration. This may reduce their productivity. Sleeplessness can also make people rely on sleeping pills or alcohol which may give temporary relief, but in the long term, they make matters worse. Chronic sleeplessness can increase a person’s chances of getting a stroke, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, Alzheimer’s disease, heart diseases and some types of cancers.

So, yes a mattress does, in fact, affect your sleep. If a person feels unrested even after they have slept for a long time or if they wake up with back pain or if they get no sleep at all then, their mattress is not good. A person should always focus on the quality of sleep rather than on quantity of sleep.


Sleep is crucial for the quality of a person’s life. In today’s fast paced life there is a lot to do and not enough time to rest. But, it is still important to get enough rest to restore the body and function well. If anyone suspects that their mattress is causing them sleepless nights then it is time for them to change their mattress.


It is very important to choose the right mattress while shopping for one. There might not be a perfect mattress for everyone, but we all have unique needs and we should look for a mattress that suits our personal needs.


In today’s digital world getting knowledge and purchasing things have become easier. Nowadays, people can buy mattress online. Quality mattresses are just a click away.


There are different mattress sizes people can choose from. The different sizes are as follows:


  • single bed mattress

  • single extra long mattress

  • king single mattress

  • double bed mattress

  • queen size mattress

  • king size mattress

  • super king size mattress


There are also many different types of mattresses. Some of them are as follows:


Innerspring mattress uses steel springs for support. It has various layers of padding, foam, fiber and another layer of smaller springs.


A pillow-top mattress is similar to innerspring mattress except that it has an extra layer of padding sewn on to the top of the mattress.


Hybrid mattress combines spring mattress with different types of foam like gel foam or latex.

Specialty foam mattress combines different types of foam like memory foam or latex for support. It does not use spring for support.


Gel mattress uses foam that contains gel in the support layer or in the padding layer or both.  

Memory foam mattress uses high-density polyurethane foam as a support system or padding layer or both.


Polyurethane foam mattress uses a type of foam called polyurethane. There are different densities of the best firm mattress , the one with the highest density is the most durable.

Latex mattress uses a type of foam called latex foam as the support system or padding layer or both.


Airbed uses an adjustable air chamber as the support system. The air chamber is covered with padding.


Waterbed uses a water chamber as the support system. The water chamber can be placed inside a wooden box or a foam layer. The water chamber is then covered with padding.
