Here are some great tips you can follow when you put your home remodelling plans into action!

UpgradeLighting Options

One of the most effective ways of adding the illusion of comfort, expediency and even character, is the right type of lighting. Make sure you speak to your designer and contractor about what type of lighting you want around your house and where. Adding a few chandeliers around the house is a great way to create a focal point in a specific space. Do remember to add some puck lights that can be plugged into areas such as under the cabinets or maybe inside the closets.

Mix And Match The Furniture

Furniture in the interiors can make a lot of difference to the ambience. If you do not have a theme, choose one according to your personal tastes as well as the functionality and the climate outside. If you are planning to replace furniture during the remodelling, including dining chairs, living room furniture and even bedroom furniture.

Smart Storage

Just as it is important that you equip every room of the house according to the desired style and the architectural techniques, it is important to be attentive about the storage options as well. If you are a young family, you might need extra storage space even in the open areas such as the living room, especially for the toys. Rather than including additional closets and interrupting the flow of the space, you can try putting up shelves and baskets that appeal to the theme of the interiors.

small details Matter

Do not forget the architectural basics when it comes to remodelling. Do remember to frame the windows of your home with broad moulding. You can also try installing cornices on the top of the cabinets. If the general theme of the interiors allows, you can even add bun feet or even carved feet to the cabinets.

WhatGoes Under Feet?

Just as it is important to decorate the walls, ceilings and other parts of the interiors with everything you like, it is also important that you pay attention to the flooring. Do remember that natural options such as bamboo, oak or teak are just as durable as the synthetic flooring options. These will not only transform the interiors of your home, but it will also add the perfect cosy and modern ambience. You can also use rugs that can be washed in the machine. But do be careful since rugs tend to trap allergens, unlike wooden flooring.

TheLittle Details Matter

If you are on a budget and not at the liberty of replacing the kitchen cabinets, you can resort to painting them with an earthy but bright colour to make the unsightly deterioration disappear. You can fix attractive handles as well. As far as the little details go, you can even update the doorknobs with antique brass, porcelain, crystal or even coloured glass varieties.

Give mantel styling a go

Add a few decorative pieces to a boring mantel shelf. Place a few family pictures, heirlooms, ornaments and even other decorative items. Do remember to sync these with the general tone of the interiors.
